====== Sockets & Spheres ====== Socket gear is where the real power lives on FanaticMU. Higher gear tiers carry more sockets (1 at T2 up to **5 at T6** - see [[progression:gear|Gear Progression]]), and filled sockets are what separates two players in the same set. ===== How it works ===== A socket is filled by mounting a **seed sphere**: a **seed** (the option) combined with a **sphere** (the strength). Seeds are **crafted, never dropped** - the Seed Master and Seed Researcher in Elbeland handle creation and mounting, the classic way. Spheres are the progression: ^ Sphere ^ Where it comes from ^ | Sphere (Mono)- Tier 1 | Sold by town merchants - for a price that will make you respect it. Also a rare Blood Castle prize | | Sphere (Di)- Tier 2 | Chaos Castle and Illusion Temple reward pools, the highest Boxes of Kundun - and one of the **new golden monsters** in the Golden Invasion carries them | | Sphere (Tri)- Tier 3 | **Uber Kundun only** | Tetra and Penta spheres are not currently obtainable. Tri is the ceiling, and the raid is the only place it exists. ===== The direction ===== Fill your sockets with whatever you can mount early - an occupied socket always beats an empty one. Chase Di through events, then run [[events:uber-kundun|Uber Kundun]] for Tri. The endgame loadout is T6 with five Tri-tier sockets - and the raid itself is tuned assuming you will get there.
